NOTICE

We will be cancelling the tour today (26 March 2015) as our founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, is lying in state at Parliament House.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your kind understanding.

We will be discontinuing this tour from April 2015 onwards due to the renovation works along Singapore River.

Fret not, we will be having the new and improved version of a Singapore River/Marina Bay tour by July 2015!

"...We had a great time and felt that we saw a side of Singapore that many tourists might not experience. We were only disappointed that our schedule did not allow for more Singapore Walks!"

"An itinerary along the Singapore River, where... specialty drinks are served at special rates while the guides embellish old Singapore lore with spicy scandals."

Tour Synopsis
Take a break from the official history of the Singapore River. This is the walk if you want the alternative story - a perfect cocktail of bank breakers, vandals, terrorists, drugs and one fine lady. Heard of the English knight loved by two women but despised by a man of the cloth? The father and son team that did the Empire proud but were labeled as vandals by some? What about the man with no head for figures who broke the Queen's Bank? Or the lawmakers who pushed opium? Savour these tales while imbibing ales in charming pubs along the picturesque river bank. Swig, swagger and stagger through the back lanes of history.

We may be biased, but in our opinion, this is the perfect walk - a quintessentially Singaporean experience with all the enjoyable elements one could wish for - washed down with a few drinks!

  • Wander through the alleyways of Boat Quay, once plied by coolie labourers and bigwig towkays
  • Hear the curious tale of the two iconic bridges over the River, Cavenagh & Elgin and make sense of Singapore's amazing global connections
  • Only the juiciest anecdotes at Brokers' Alley and the Street of Mercy
  • Savour more history and local quirks at two charming pubs as the sun goes down
Additional Information:
  • Walkers enjoy fantastic drink discounts. Non-alcoholic drinks are available too.
  • As this Walk goes past dinnertime, do have a light meal beforehand to stave off hunger pangs! Walk ends at a traditional pub so you don't have to worry about where to go for a hot and hearty meal.
